Abstract
This research aimed to examine the effect of NPK fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer derived from cow manure bio-slurry on the growth and yield of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.). The background of this study lies in the increasing need for efficient and sustainable agricultural practices, especially in urban and limited-land areas. The integration of inorganic (NPK) and organic (bio-slurry) fertilizers offers a potential solution to the limited availability and high cost of chemical fertilizers, while also improving soil quality and promoting environmental sustainability. The experiment was conducted from June to August 2024 in Taman Village, Sidoarjo Regency, using a randomized block design (RBD) with a factorial arrangement. The first factor was NPK dosage (10 g, 15 g, and 20 g/plant), and the second was bio-slurry concentrations (0 ml, 50 ml, 75 ml, and 100 ml/liter of water), with three replications, resulting in 36 treatment units. Growth and yield parameters measured included plant height, number of leaves, leaf dimensions, stem and flower size, flower weight, and leaf chlorophyll content. Data was analyzed using variance (ANOVA) 5% BNJ. The results showed that the combination of 10 g NPK and 100 ml/l bio-slurry, 15g NPK and ml/l bio slurry significantly improved plant height, stem diameter, and flower yield. The interaction between NPK and bio-slurry positively influenced most growth and yield components. Therefore, the combined application of bio-slurry and reduced NPK dosage is recommended as an effective and eco-friendly fertilization strategy for cauliflower cultivation Keywords: bio-slurry, cauliflower, fertilization, growth, NPK
