Abstract
This study aims to 1) Identify the characteristics of rice farmers 2) Analyze the cost of rice farming using Combine Harvester and Non-Combine Harvester 3) Analyze the comparison of rice farming costs using Combine Harvester and Non-Combine Harvester. The research location was selected using the purposive method. The study was conducted using a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The sampling technique in this study was conducted using the Simple Random Sampling method on 38 farmers who use the Combine Harvester and Non-Combine Harvester harvesting systems. The research results show that the average land area of the farmers is 1 hectare, with a total variable cost for the Combine Harvester of Rp3,921,080 and for the Non-Combine Harvester of Rp5,673,501. These results indicate that the harvesting system using the Non-Combine Harvester requires higher costs compared to using the Combine Harvester. The impacts caused after implementing the harvesting system using a Combine Harvester are the impact on the quality of the rice, the impact on harvesting costs, the impact on crop loss, the impact on harvesting time, and the impact on the labor required.
