Abstract
Waste management in the Gresik Kota Baru Residential Area still uses conventional methods, namely by transportation. However, there is still waste that is not transported to the Final Processing Site and is finally disposed of on vacant land by burning by the community. In Gresik Kota Baru RW 04 Housing, waste transportation is carried out using a garbage cart measuring 150 kg/m3 and a garbage truck measuring 2.5 tons/m3. To overcome this problem, a waste bank system was implemented as an effort to invite the public to sort waste before it is disposed of at the Final Processing Site. In the study conducted for 7 days, the results of waste analysis were processed using the Correlation Analysis method with the help of Mini Tab software. The waste that was successfully sorted by the community in Gresik Kota Baru RW 04 Housing was 8.42 kg/day out of a total waste of 31.15 kg/day. The types of waste that are sorted include food waste, paper, cardboard, leaves, and plastic bottles. Food waste and leaves are used for the composting process, while paper waste, cardboard, and plastic bottles are sold to collectors. Meanwhile, the reduction waste is transported to the Final Processing Site. Average weight of waste is 0.33 kg/person/day
