Abstract

In logistics, the distribution of goods is crucial for operational efficiency and effectiveness. Successful distribution significantly impacts various industries that depend on timely and cost-effective deliveries. In light of this, PT. Sinar Genta Logistik, a transportation and distribution service provider, is dedicated to helping customers fulfill their distribution requirements for both personal and business use. Thus, this study aims to enhance delivery optimization by reducing total travel distance through the Ant Colony Optimization method, inspired by the food-seeking behavior of ant colonies that leave trails. The research focused on three-wheeled motorcycle deliveries at PT. Sinar Genta Logistik and applied the Ant Colony Optimization method, achieving a total distance reduction of 293,3 km, or 15,86%. This demonstrates that the Ant Colony Optimization method effectively generates a more efficient route distance for distribution compared to the company's current approach.
