Abstract

Roads are land transportation infrastructure that is needed to connect one place to another to meet human needs. Roads that experience damage if no immediate follow- up repairs are made cause greater damage and require greater costs to make repairs so it is necessary to make efforts to maintain road conditions to avoid this. There are segments that experience pavement damage conditions in the Probolinggo Regency area, especially on the Taman Sari - Banjar Sawah road section. This research aims to find the index value of the level of pavement damage on the Taman Sari - Banjar Sawah road section using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and will map the condition of road damage in the research area using the help of the Geographic Information System (GIS) In obtaining information about the condition of the pavement, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) approach method is used with the formula (PCI = 100 - CDV) with the output value which is a numerical index ranging from 0 - 100 which is based on the type of damage, the level of damage, and the size of the damage that occurs. The types of damage found at the research location include sungkur, groove, amblas, patch, hole, crocodile skin crack, longitudinal crack, marginal crack, and checkered crack. Longitudinal cracks, crocodile skin cracks, marginal cracks, potholes, ruts (grooves), patch damage, sungkur damage, and collapse damage. The results of the calculations and analysis, the road damage value was obtained based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and for the Taman Sari - Banjar Sawah Road Section, the PCI value was in the range of 26 - 90 with an average of 61.25 which is included in the good category. A decrease in the quality or structural level of the road needs to be maintained and repaired so that the level of quality or damage to the road is better.
