Abstract
Building Information Modeling (BIM) represents a transformative approach in the digitalization of construction processes, enabling comprehensive control over design, planning, and execution workflows. Compared to conventional methods, BIM facilitates more accurate and efficient data integration throughout the project lifecycle. This study investigates the implementation of 4D BIM integrating 3D modeling and construction scheduling using Autodesk Revit for quantity take-off and Autodesk Navisworks for time-based simulation. A comparative analysis was conducted to evaluate material quantity estimations and scheduling outcomes between BIM-based and conventional methodologies. The results indicate significant quantitative deviations, with Revit-based calculations yielding −8.6% for concrete, −14.9% for rebar, and −12.1% for formwork compared to conventional CAD-based estimations. Furthermore, the Revit-based scheduling model demonstrated enhanced time efficiency, shortening the structural execution phase by 21 days relative to conventional planning. These findings underscore the potential of BIM as a strategic tool for improving material accuracy and project delivery timelines, particularly during the construction documentation phase. The study contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting BIM adoption as a best practice in modern construction project management.
