Abstract
In the context of higher education institutions, managing thesis administration remains a challenge, particularly in the Physics Study Program, which previously lacked an system to support the thesis management process and seminar scheduling. To address this need, the backend system of the thesis management system and scheduling application was developed to support both thesis administration and seminar scheduling using a rule-based algorithm. This research focuses on backend development designed to serve various user roles, including Students, Lecturers, Thesis Coordinators, Study Program Coordinators, and Admins, by providing API services accessible through a web platform. The backend system includes several core features such as user authentication, pre-proposal submission, advisor assignment scheduling, management of seminar proposal and final seminar, oral exams, and submission of graduation proof documents. The development process follows the Scrum software development methodology, consisting of six sprint iterations, with each iteration focusing on feature enhancement and system stability. Backend testing was conducted using the black-box testing approach to ensure functionality meets user requirements. Finally, the system was deployed to a cloud hosting server using Cloud Run, allowing the API to be publicly accessible.
