Abstract
PT ABC is a company operating in the fertilizer industry, playing a vital role in supporting the national agricultural sector. One of the key elements in maintaining smooth operations is warehouse management, which encompasses the processes of receiving, storing, and distributing materials. Efficient warehouse management is essential to ensure a smooth material flow, minimize waste, and support overall operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze and identify waste occurring in PT ABC’s warehouse using the Lean Warehousing approach, the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method, and the Pareto Diagram. Initial analysis revealed that the Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) value of 68.92% indicated potential waste in warehouse activities. The main sources of waste were identified in several activities, making the optimization of waiting-type waste a priority. Improvement alternatives were implemented using the 5S principles, which include sorting materials (seiri), reorganizing warehouse layouts (seiton), implementing routine cleanliness (seiso), standardizing SOPs (seiketsu), and fostering work discipline (shitsuke). With these improvements, the estimated PCE value increased to 80.95%, reflecting a 12.03% efficiency improvement. This study demonstrates that implementing Lean Warehousing is effective in optimizing warehouse management at PT ABC.
