Abstract
This study aims to increase melon fruit yield by determining the effect of the right dose of potassium fertilizer, the effect of the frequency of Photosynthetic Bacteria (PSB) administration and the effect of the interaction between the dose of potassium fertilizer and the frequency of PSB administration on melon fruit productivity. The study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two main factors. The first factor is the dose of potassium fertilizer (K0: without, K:9g/plant, K2:10g/plant, K3:11g/plant). The second factor is the frequency of PSB administration (F0: without, F1:1x a week, F2:2x a week, F3:3x a week). Each factor consists of 4 levels. The parameters observed include fruit weight per plant, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness and sweetness level. Data will be analyzed using ANOVA. The results of the study concluded that the single factor of potassium fertilizer and PSB doses significantly affected the fruit diameter and fruit flesh thickness. The interaction of potassium fertilizer and PSB administration significantly affected the fruit weight per plant and the level of sweetness. This study provides information for melon farmers to manage fertilization and PSB applications efficiently, so as to increase productivity.
