Abstract
This research aims to improve the efficiency and productivity of wooden spoon production in Pandansari Village, Poncokusumo Subdistrict, Malang Regency. Pandansari Village is known as a center for the wood industry, but imbalanced human resource planning has led to less than optimal levels of efficiency and productivity. Wooden spoon artisans in Pandansari Village, such as Mr. Musyafa’, have been struggling to meet the increasing demand for wooden spoons, which has surged following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted through direct observation and standard time calculations, as well as analyzing the work station balance. The primary goal is to determine the efficient number of workers and ensure an even distribution of workload. This would allow the company to increase the production capacity of ready-to-ship wooden spoons while maintaining productivity and controlling labor costs per product. The results of this study are expected to provide recommendations on the efficient number of workers and strategies for equitable workload distribution. Thus, wooden spoon artisans in Pandansari Village can improve production efficiency and meet the growing market demand.
