Abstract

As Muslims, it is mandatory to study the holy book Al-Qur’an. Parents play an important role in introducing the Al-Qur’an to their children from early age as a firststep to shaping a Qur’anic generation. Memorizing the Al-Qur’an is certainly not easy for children because they often feel bored and uninterested. Children have a greater interest in playing, therefore designing a board game themed around memorizing the Al-Qur’an could be a solution in helping children. This design uses qualitative methods through observation and interviews, as well as quantitative methods through questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this design is 5W+1H. From this analysis, the keywords 'Love of the Qur'an and Care for Others' are generated. These keywords are used to design the verbal, visual, and main and supporting media concepts. The board game 'Jejak Hafidz' has a simple gameplay flow tailored to the target audience. The concept of the board game is set against the backdrop of a desert and an Arab caravan. In the gameplay, children will learn to recite all the surahs in Juz Amma and also answer action question cards about good deeds. The design of this board game is expected to bring benefits to children as well as to parents and Quran teachers, while also serving as a continuous charity for the author. Furthermore, it is hoped that children's interest in learning to memorize the Quran will increase. Keyword: Board game, Murojaah, Juz Amma, Childrens
