Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of the unemployment rate, education level, and population growth on the poverty rate in Gresik Regency. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period of 2008 to 2023. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, supported by classical assumption tests to ensure the validity of the model. The results show that, simultaneously, all three independent variables have a significant effect on the poverty rate. However, partially, only education level and population growth have a significant influence, while the unemployment rate does not. The Adjusted R² value of 93.8% indicates that the regression model is able to explain a substantial portion of the variation in the poverty rate in Gresik Regency. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of education and controlling the rate of population growth as effective strategies to reduce poverty. These results are expected to provide input for local governments in formulating more targeted and effective development policies.
