Abstract

Indonesia is a very large country. In it there are various cultures. One of them is traditional food, which comes from a place and is made with local ingredients and has existed for generations and is a characteristic of the area. Traditional food is not only heavy food but also snacks, for example traditional cakes. As time goes by, traditional cakes are starting to be forgotten, many teenagers do not know the name or appearance of traditional cakes. One of the factors is also because cakes from the West are easier to find than traditional cakes. Therefore, a newer and more interesting introduction method is needed in introducing traditional Indonesian cakes, namely in the form of a card game aimed at late teenagers, with the aim of preserving the culture of the archipelago, namely traditional cakes. The design of this card game uses a qualitative method with interview methods, observation, 5w + 1H and quantitative methods through questionnaires. In this design, interviews were conducted with several parties, to board game experts, owners of traditional cake catering. Observations were made not only to find out whether there was already a traditional Indonesian cake card game but also to observe how the target audience played the card game, a questionnaire was conducted to find out the habits, it was discovered that late teenagers aged 18-21 years old were interested in traditional Indonesian cakes. The result was a competitive and fun card game, entitled "Kejutan Manis Nusantara", the core of the game is to collect ingredients for traditional Indonesian cakes and fight over the traditional cakes. With this, the target audience will find it easier to receive information about the region of origin, name, ingredients and trivia, while at the same time maintaining a social situation such as excitement and intimacy when gathering with friends or relatives. This design is expected to help and also educate late teenagers aged 18-21 years to get to know and inherit the culture of the archipelago, namely traditional Indonesian cakes. Because in fact traditional Indonesian cakes are not inferior to western cakes. Traditional Indonesian cakes have a complex taste and a very beautiful and colorful appearance.
