Abstract

Farming plays an important role in Indonesian society, especially as a source of food and economy. There is a phenomenon that many elementary school students abilities regarding understanding material about livestock are still very low. Therefore, there is a need for an engaging educational board game to enhance interest and understanding of livestock-related topics. The purpose of designing a board game as an educational media is to introduce livestock to elementary school children, especially grades 4, 5, and 6 so that they can better recognize and understand the rolle of livestock The research method used in this design are the qualitative 5W+1H analysis method and fishbone analysis, with primary data collected through interviews with several elementary school teachers regarding livestock introduction materials, interviews with board game master, and conducting focus group discussions (FGD) at Al-Islah Elementary School in Surabaya, secondary data obtained from the results of literature studies. The analysis results imdicated that children tend to be more enthusiastic in the learning process when the teaching method involves hands-on activities through an approach that combines play and interactive learning. The analyzed data serves as the foundation for determining the design concept with the keyword “Educational livestock learning simulation.” The selection of Indonesian as the primary language in the board game facilitates the delivery of the educational messages intended to be conveyed. The visual style features vibrant colors, engaging illustrations, and bright color choices to create an enjoyable impression. With this board game as an educational medium, it is hoped that i will enhance students active participation, as well as stimulate their memory and critical thinking skills through an enjoyable game.
