Abstract
One of the industries that produces a lot of liquid waste in Indonesia is the batik industry. The batik industry has the potential to cause pollution to surface water bodies because batik industry waste has a fairly high content of pollutants Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Color. Electrocoagulation is able to set aside TSS and Color by producing flocs from the electrochemical process where these flocs can still pass and be processed in sedimentation units that are maximized with photocatalysts in setting aside color parameters. This study was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of combinations, electrocoagulation sampling time and photocatalysts continuously, analyze the effect of distance between electrodes on continuous electrocoagulation processing in setting aside TSS and Color parameters in batik industrial wastewater. Batik industrial wastewater is flowed into an electrocoagulation reactor with a strong current of 5A which is then flowed continuously to the photocatalyst reactor. with a discharge of 0.2 L/min. The electrodes used are made of aluminum material and the catalyst is used TiO2. The variables measured were the distance between electrodes (1.5 and 3) cm and sampling time (0, 60, 90, 120, 150) minutes. The results of the study were obtained with a distance between electrodes of 3 cm at the sampling time of 90 minutes with a high TSS allowance of 96.85% and the distance between electrodes of 3 cm at the sampling time of 150 minutes with a high color allowance of 94.25%.
