Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of liquidity, activity, profitability, and firm size on financial distress of consumer cyclicals sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2021-2023. This research uses a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 39 companies selected through purposive sampling. Secondary data is obtained from the annual financial statements of consumer cyclicals companies accessed through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression, descriptive statistics, normality test, classical assumption test, F test, t test, and coefficient of determination test. The results showed that liquidity, activity, and firm size have a negative effect on financial distress, while profitability has a positive effect on financial distress.
