Abstract

A 60,000-ton/year methanol plant in Kasiman, Bojonegoro, uses natural gas and oxygen as raw materials. Methanol is used in the chemical industry, biodiesel production, and as a solvent. Methanol production using the MGC process involves natural gas reforming, reaction in a fluidized bed reactor (99% conversion), separation in a Flash Drum, and distillation purification to 99.983% purity.
