Abstract
The Griyo Mulyo Landfill is a waste final processing facility in Sidoarjo Regency with a land area of ± 51.4 Ha. The final waste management system at the Griyo Mulyo Landfill uses the Controlled Landfill system. Since the opening of the Griyo Mulyo Landfill in 2020, it has been in accordance with SOPs and there has been no use of gas resulting from waste hoarding activities at the Griyo Mulyo Landfill. This study aims to determine the amount, composition, and density of waste at the Griyo Mulyo Landfill through the sampling process, as well as analyze the amount of methane gas produced from the landfilling process at the Griyo Mulyo Landfill using LandGEM and IPCC software. This study refers to SNI 19-3964-1994 for the sampling process. The results of sampling in the field showed that the composition of the Griyo Mulyo landfill with the highest percentage of waste composition was food waste with a value of 20.94%, and the lowest was metal waste of 0.36%, while the average waste density was 291.84 kg/m³, and the rate of population waste generation in Sidoarjo Regency in 2020-2024 was 0.23/day/year with an average value of 191,374 tons of waste generation per year. As a result of the calculation of the large estimate of methane gas production produced from the Landfilling process at the Griyo Mulyo Landfill, methane gas emissions are only formed after a year of waste being discharged into the landfill, namely in 2021 of 992 Mg/year and obtaining a result of 3,885 Mg/year in 2024 in the LandGEM software and for the results of the IPCC Model in 20204 of 1,523 Mg/year.
