Abstract

PT Atlantic Anugrah Metalindo, a manufacturing company in Surabaya, faced bottlenecks in the production of steel doors and fire doors due to an imbalance in machine capacity and cycle time. This causes a buildup of semi finished goods, decreases efficiency, and hinders the achievement of production targets. This research applies Theory of Constraints (TOC) to redesign production planning through five main stages, identifying constraint stations, exploiting constraint stations, subordinating to align resources, eliminating bottlenecks, and repeating the process by recalculating based on the improvements that have been achieved. The results of the Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) calculation show that bottlenecks occur at bending (SK-2), assembly (SK-3), and painting (SK 5) work stations. To overcome this obstacle, additional overtime was added from August to November 2024. This improvement increased production to 118 units of steel door and 59 units of fire door, which had an impact on increasing profits to Rp 398,600,000. With an additional 33 units of steel doors and 15 units of fire doors, profits increased by Rp 93,400,000 or 23.4%. Thus, this strategy proved effective in overcoming bottlenecks, improving production efficiency, and maximizing profitability and production capacity utilization.
