Abstract

PT X is a company engaged in construction that serves the manufacture of custom products according to customer desires. Consumable items that are always certain to be used are grinding stones, which are used for the cutting and grinding processes. Because of the importance of grinding stones in the production process at the company, its inventory must be managed effectively and efficiently. Knowing the amount of existing grinding stone inventory will make it easier for the company to estimate its production capabilities. The solution to this problem is assisted by using POM-QM software. From the results of the research using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, this method has a total cost value per grinding stone for grinding stones ⌀4 " X 3 mm, Grinding Stone ⌀4" X 6 mm, and Grinding Stone ⌀7" X 6 mm are as follows: Rp. 17,820,000; Rp. 40,934,141; Rp. 47,961,800, respectively. The known reoder point value for Grinding Stone ⌀4" X 3 mm is 123 units, Grinding Stone ⌀4" X 6 mm by 162 units, and Grinding Stone ⌀7" X 6 mm amounted to 78 units. It is known that the most widely used grinding stone in the production process is the ⌀4" X 6 mm Taiyo because it has the largest reorder point value. So, it can be concluded that the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method is the right method for PT to apply. X, because it provides the right solution about the amount of inventory so that the company can find out the production capabilities based on the available consumable items and the needs in the production process, can be met, which ultimately causes the company's profits to be maximized.
