Abstract
The agricultural sector remains a pivotal component of economic development, particularly the horticulture subsector, which has gained increasing popularity among farmers due to its relatively shorter harvest cycles, especially for vegetable and fruit cultivation. This subsector plays a critical role as a high-potential agricultural segment with promising prospects for further development. Its expansion is expected to stimulate the local economy and contribute significantly to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Gresik Regency. Recognizing its economic importance, the government has prioritized the advancement of horticultural agribusiness, particularly in fruit production, as a means to enhance community income. This study aims to identify and examine the leading fruit cultivation products that function as both foundational and supplementary sectors in Gresik Regency. Furthermore, the research aims to assess the viability of these products in the present and looking ahead. The study employs the Location Quotient (LQ) and Delta Location Quotient (ΔLQ) methods to categorize products into four distinct categories. These classifications encompass established, developing, and evolving entities. The research utilizes secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The findings indicate that water apple is classified as a "star" commodity, while mango and rambutan fall into the "mature" category. Additionally, starfruit, guava, pomelo, mangosteen, papaya, banana, soursop, and breadfruit are categorized as "emerging" commodities, whereas avocado, durian, and mandarin orange are identified as "transforming" commodities.
