Abstract

The purpose of this internship is to analyze the generation, sources, and composition of waste entering Tegalasri Landfill, evaluate the facilities and infrastructure system, and provide recommendations to improve waste management at the landfill. The methods used in this research include qualitative and quantitative data collection through interviews, literature studies, and secondary data analysis from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results of the analysis showed that in 2022, the waste generation entering Tegalasri landfill reached 149,305.60 tons/year, with the main sources of waste coming from traditional markets (40%) and households (30%). The composition of waste is dominated by food waste (41.17%) and plastic (18.69%). The projected waste generation in 2032 is estimated to reach 221.71 tons/day, which requires land expansion and improvement of waste management infrastructure. Recommendations include increasing the capacity of the WWTP, optimizing methane gas utilization, adding heavy equipment and waste transportation fleets, and expanding the landfill. In addition, it is necessary to increase public awareness and implement the 3R system (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to reduce the amount of waste entering the landfill.
