Abstract

The TKDN (Domestic Component Level) policy is an important instrument to increase the use of domestic products and reduce business dependence on imported products in the hope of encouraging domestic industries to be more competitive. This policy is an implementation of the P3DN (Increasing the Use of Domestic Products) team. This study uses a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to evaluate the potential, challenges, opportunities, and threats related to the implementation of TKDN. The results of the analysis show that this policy has the potential to increase domestic industrial production and development, encourage domestic product quality, maintain economic stability, and increase employment opportunities. However, on the other side, there are weaknesses related to dependence on foreign suppliers, inadequate quality of local products, limited infrastructure, human resources, and technology. Opportunities that can be utilized include saving foreign exchange, transfer of knowledge or technology, decreasing import value, while the main threat comes from tight competition with foreign products. This study aims to identify factors affected by the TKDN policy in the competitiveness of Indonesian local products.
