Abstract
This study aims to examine the cultural impacts of community-based tourism development in Kampung Batik Jetis, Sidoarjo. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research incorporates observation, in-depth interviews, and literature reviews. The findings indicate that community-based tourism has positive impacts, such as preserving batik-making traditions as a local cultural identity, enhancing cultural interactions between the community and tourists, and strengthening community pride in their cultural heritage. However, the study also highlights negative impacts, including intergenerational conflicts stemming from differing perspectives on modernization and cultural preservation, as well as disparities between communities actively involved in tourism and those who are not. These challenges affect social harmony and the sustainability of cultural tourism. Therefore, it is necessary to manage tourism in a way that involves all stakeholders and considers various needs to maintain cultural preservation and social balance
