Abstract

In planning a building structure, there are several important aspects that require special attention. One of them is the response of the building structure. To minimize the occurrence of structural failure due to earthquakes, the building structure must be designed based on SNI 1726:2019. One innovation that can be applied is the use of a base isolation system. With the use of base isolation, vibrations that occur due to earthquakes can be absorbed and dampened first before being transmitted to the structure above it, so that the vibration received by the upper structure becomes smaller. Base isolation has various types, one of which is the high damping rubber bearing (HDRB). HDRB is one type of base isolation that has a relatively large initial stiffness value, so that it can with stand a high earthquake force. This research uses the performance based design or performance-based method. This research is in the form of modification and performance analysis of the building structure based on the displacement value, deviation between levels, basic shear force, performance level, and ductility using the pushover method on buildings placed in strong earthquake areas. The results obtained are that with the addition of HDRB type base isolation, there is an increase in the value of the structural period by 67%, an increase in the X-direction displacement value by 73% and Y direction by 22%, as well as a decrease in the deviation value between levels by 42% in the X-direction and 43% in the Y-direction. In addition, based on the results of the pushover analysis, this building structure is included in the Immidiate performance level category Immidiate Occupancy (IO) performance level category and belongs to the partial ductility category.
