Abstract
This proposal outlines the pre-design of a Carbon Tetrachloride plant utilizing Carbon Disulfide and Chlorine through a chlorination process, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons. The plant will be located in Desa Rawa Arum, Purwakarta, Cilegon, Banten, and will operate continuously for 330 days a year. Carbon Tetrachloride, widely used as a solvent in the rubber, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, is produced through a series of processes including vaporization, reaction in a reactor, flash distillation, and final cooling before storage. The project involves significant investment, with a fixed capital of approximately IDR 8.07 trillion and a working capital of around IDR 2.06 trillion, yielding an internal rate of return of 22%. The plant aims to meet the growing demand for Carbon Tetrachloride while ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
