Abstract
Bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) is an agricultural commodity that is used as a cooking ingredient. Bitter melon has a bitter bitter taste, but not a few people who like it because of its antioxidant capacity. The productivity of bitter melon can be increased through the implementation of appropriate cultivation techniques, such as the selection of planting media composition and the application of PGPR. The research was conducted from April to July 2024 at Brenjonk Organic Farming Community Land, Mojokerto. The experiment conducted in this study was a factorial experiment arranged based on RAL (Completely Randomized Design) with two treatment factors. The first factor is the treatment of planting media composition (M) consisting of 4 levels, namely M1 (soil), M2 (soil: husk charcoal), M3 (soil: cow manure), and M4 (soil: husk charcoal: cow manure). The second factor is PGPR concentration which consists of 3 levels, namely T1 (5 ml/l), T2 (10 ml/l), and T3 (15 ml/l). There were 12 treatment combinations and repeated 3 times to obtain 36 experimental units. The data obtained were analyzed by variance analysis with RAL. If the effect is significant, continued with the BNJ (Differential Real Honest) test at the 5% level. The results in this study showed that there was no significant interaction between the composition of planting media treatment and PGPR concentration. The treatment of planting media M4 (soil: husk charcoal: cow manure) gives the best effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, number of flowers, fruit length, fruit weight, and fruit diameter. PGPR T3 concentration treatment gave the best effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, and number of flowers.
