Abstract
Thengul dance is a typical Bojonegoro dance that has a unique and special eature in the presentation of dance performances. Although not very well known outside Bojonegoro, this Thengul dance is very well known in Bojonegoro Regency and has many achievements. Achievements achieved by Thengul Dance between the completion of the 2019 election of thengul dancers, and received an award for the opening performance of 250 dancers during the August 17 Ceremony at the State Palace. Thengul dance has also received the State by obtaining IPR in 2018. Thengul dance must be preserved specifically introduced to children in Bojonegoro Regency. This design raises the title "Designing Interactive Book Illustration of Thongul Typical Bojonegoro Dance for Children Aged 6-9 Years" which departs rom the phenomenon that occurs in children in Bojonegoro Regency. In collecting data about this design, using the method of direct observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires distributed through google forms for the target segment with an age range of 6-9 years supported by teachers and funds from children. Secondary data consisting of books and journals are also used to supplement the main data to support secondary data. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis method that explains the mportant points in the design, as well as the solution of the problem using the Data Reduction method, so as to produce a keyword that is "Wise Expressions of Thengul Dance" or interesting and imaginative colors, which carry book concept with the use of illustrations and bright colors of costumes and thengul property, which can make special readers of children interested and not bored when reading because hey use light and communicative language. This design hopes that in the future it can become one of the first steps in ntroducing early children to be able to participate in the preservation of regional culture, so that they can continue to improve the thengul dance performance to the children and grandchildren.
