Abstract
This research was conducted based on global efforts to address environmental issues, one of which is climate change. Climate change is one of the threats that must be addressed immediately by countries in the world, especially countries participating in environmental conventions such as Japan and Indonesia. One of the main factors causing climate change is carbon emissions which are generally the result of industrialization activities in developed countries. Japan's contribution as a developed country in overcoming this problem can be seen from the cooperation established by Japan with developing countries called the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). This cooperation is realized by carrying out technology transfer which aims to support Japan in reducing carbon emissions. By using the theory of international cooperation and technology transfer as a theoretical basis in answering the formulation of the problem. This study aims to see how the implementation of JCM projects in Indonesia is more specific, to find out the form of technology transfer cooperation in handling carbon in the Japanese and Indonesian JCM in 2013-2023. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a literature study data collection technique in the form of documents, annual reports, articles, and news related to the implementation of the Japanese JCM in Indonesia. Furthermore, based on the findings of the research results, it was concluded that the form of technology transfer can be seen in 52 JCM projects in Indonesia that have reached the stage of operating technology according to its capacity. The achievement of the technology transfer stage by JCM projects can be a benchmark for the extent to which JCM projects implement technology transfer in Indonesia. Keywords : JCM, Technology Transfer, Carbon Emissions
