Abstract
QUALITY ANALYSIS OF PYROLYSIS OIL FROM MIXED PLASTIC WASTE (LDPE AND PP) USING ZEOLITE AND BENTONITE CATALYSTS The increasing demand for plastic is getting higher and higher, because of its non-degradable nature, it is difficult to handle. Plastic pyrolysis is one of the plastic waste processing methods that can produce oil products. The selection of LDPE and PP plastic waste is based on the large amount of LDPE type waste such as bubblewrap which is often used and found due to the increase in online buying and selling activities and PP plastic ( cup plastic ) which is almost in every landfill. As a follow-up research, the analysis of the quality of pyrolysis oil from a mixture of LDPE and PP plastics using zeolite and bentonite catalysts aims to compare the quality of pyrolysis oil to get the best oil products. , analyze the effect and relationship of temperature and catalyst with pyrolysis oil quality parameters, and analyze the compounds of pyrolysis oil content. The study used an experimental method with a pyrolysis furnance with a maximum capacity of 6 liters, the material to be used is a mixture of LDPE and PP plastics and a catalyst of 30% of the weight of the pyrolysis material on each bentonite catalyst and 100 mesh pore size zeolite that has been activated with 1M HCL. The analysis method carried out the specification of pyrolysis oil results with the provisions. The results of the oil research show that the pyrolysis of a mixture of LDPE and PP with the addition of bentonite catalyst 30% of oil quality at a temperature of 450C has a flashpoint value of 34°C. Pourpoint value 2℃, viscosity value 1.9 Cp, density value 760 Kg/m3, calorie value 41658.41 KJ/Kg. The results of the octane test found a number of 95.3 RON and GC-MS tests obtained alkane compounds that make up gasoline with the highest percent of 11.79% compound C9H20 or 2,4 - Dimethylheptane.
