Abstract

Tomatoes are one of the vegetable commodity crops with high nutritional value. This study aims to determine the effect of planting media composition and KCl fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of tomato plants. The research was conducted in Jemur Wonosari, Wonocolo District, Surabaya City, East Java, from November 2023 to February 2024. The study was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors, each consisting of 4 levels, and repeated 3 times. The first factor is the concentration of planting media (M), consisting of M0 = Soil, M1 = Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal : Goat Manure (1:1:1), M2 = Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal : Goat Manure (1:2:1), M3 = Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal : Goat Manure (1:1:2). Meanwhile, the second factor is the dosage of KCl fertilizer (K), which includes K0 = 150 kg/ha, K1 = 150 kg/ha, K2 = 200 kg/ha, and K3 = 250 kg/ha. The results showed that the treatment combination of planting media composition Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal : Goat Manure (1:1:1) + 150 kg/ha was able to accelerate the flowering time of tomato plants.
