Abstract
Motivation is the basic impulse that moves a person to behave. The aims of this study were: 1) to analyze the motivation of apple farmers in Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency; 2) Analyze the factors that influence the motivation of farmers in developing apple farming in Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and Ordinal Regression Test. The results showed that: 1) The level of economic motivation in the high category with an average value of 2.98 and based on sociological motivation in the high category with an average value of 2.63; 2) Factors that have a significant effect on farmer motivation are education level, number of family dependents, level of self-confidence, farmer capital, mastery of technology, and the price of apples. Meanwhile, the factors that did not have a significant effect were age, number of counseling participants, and farming experience.Keywords: apple farmer, economy, motivation, ordinal regression, and sociology.
