Abstract

Proper medication storage is crucial for maintaining their quality and effectiveness. Uncontrolled temperature and humidity fluctuations can damage medications, potentially harming patients. This study aims to design a monitoring and control system for temperature and humidity in medication storage rooms using the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The system utilizes an AHT25 temperature and humidity sensor connected to an ESP32 microcontroller for real-time monitoring. Temperature and humidity data are displayed on a 16x4 LCD and Node-red, and the system is equipped with an IR Transmitter to control the AC, ensuring the room temperature meets Pharmacopeia standards. The system's development follows the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. Testing results show that the developed system accurately monitors medication storage conditions, with an average error of 0.45% for temperature and 0.27% for humidity compared to commercial measuring devices. MATLAB-based fuzzy testing revealed an average error of 0.49%. Additionally, the IR Transmitter sensor effectively controls the AC at a 90° angle and a distance of 2 meters, with a delay of 4.2% between the LCD display and solenoid door lock response. This system offers an effective solution to maintain the quality of drugs in storage space, has high solubility because it offers a concrete solution that aims to solve a specific problem, namely maintaining the quality of drugs.
