Abstract

The presence of mobile phones has changed the human way of life. Remote communication is no longer a difficult thing to do. Mobile phone operators began to emerge. As the era grew, telecommunication business competition increasingly rapidly. Telkomsel is telecommunication company in Indonesia that has been established since 1993 and has become the largest mobile phone operator in Indonesia with more than 140 million customers. This research explains what factors make up the brand image of Telkomsel mobile phone operator in the city of Surabaya. This type of research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, with the analytical techniques used is exploratory factor analysis. This research specifically examines three latent variables with 18 manifest variabels. The population of this research is Telkomsel active users in the city of Surabaya. The sampling techniques used are purposive sampling techniques and sampling quota. The results of this research showed that there are four factors that make up the brand image of Telkomsel mobile phone operator in the city of Surabaya namely brand personality, consumer benefit, quality perception and product attribute.
