Abstract

Shallots are horticultural crops with high economic value and are widely consumed by the community daily. In 2021, shallot production decreased. This was partly due to the infection of Fusarium sp. which causes the main disease in shallots, namely moler disease which can cause losses of up to 50%. So, control activities need to be carried out. Therefore, control by utilizing the biological control agent Streptomyces sp. is one solution that can be tried. This study aims to determine the potential of Streptomyces sp. bacteria from the exploration of shallot fields in Bojonegoro against Fusarium sp. fungi in vitro and their effect on the growth and roduction of shallots in vivo. This study used 15 isolates from the exploration of shallot planting land in Desa Krondonan Village, Kec. Gondang, Kab. Bojonegoro for in vitro tests which were repeated 3 times. The Streptomyces isolate S8 produced the highest inhibitory power in inhibiting Fusarium by 49.5%, S7 by 48.4%, and isolate S4 by 46.9%. Isolate S1 produced the lowest inhibitory power of 34.5%. In vivo test used the 3 best isolates from the in vitro test results (IS1, IS2, IS3), positive controls (KP1, KP2, KP3), negative control (FKN), and neutral control (KN) which were repeated 3 times. The results of the in vivo test showed the fastest incubation period by the FKN treatment at 14 HST and the longest incubation period by the KP3 treatment at 25 HST. The lowest disease intensity in the KP3 treatment was 37% and the highest intensity in the FKN treatment was 86%. The highest plant length value occurred when the plants were 4 MST in the KP3 treatment at 36.40 cm and the lowest in the FKN treatment. The highest number of leaves per hill was in the KP3 treatment at 35 leaves at 5 MST, and the lowest was in the FKN treatment at 5 MST at 10 leaves. The highest number of tubers per clump was 7 tubers in KP3, and the lowest result in FKN was 2 tubers per clump. KP3 gave the best results for the highest wet tuber weight of 7.67 gr, and the FKN treatment with the lowest value of 2.44 gr. The highest average dry tuber weight in the KP3 treatment was 6.15 gr, while the lowest value in the FKN treatment was 1.64 gr.
