Abstract
This research aims to determine copyright protection for artificial intelligence works of art in Indonesia, England, and Canada. In addition to examining copyright protection for works of art generated by artificial intelligence, this research also seeks to explore the legal framework in Indonesia that acknowledges and safeguards the copyrights of AI-created artistic works. The writing of this research is based on the emergence of various cases related to AI-made works of art in the UK and Canada, as well as the increasing use of AI-made works of art for commercial purposes in Indonesia. This research uses normative legal research methods, both conceptual and comparative. Legal materials come from primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and non-legal materials. The data collection method was carried out using library research. The findings of this study indicate that in England, artworks created by AI are acknowledged and protected for a duration of 50 years, while in Canada, this protection extends to 70 years, contingent upon passing an originality assessment. Conversely, Indonesia does not recognize AI-generated artworks, viewing AI merely as a legal entity, with the creations of AI being considered secondary to the AI itself.
