Abstract
Human resources are one of the factors of success achieved by entrepreneurs in the modern era which is very developing and rapidly. The importance of good business performance and entrepreneurial competence can support the development of a business. This study aims to determine the effect of entrepreneurial competence and social capital on the performance of micro, small and medium enterprises in the city of Surabaya. The research method used is quantitative methods and data collection using a questionnaire with a Likert scale as a measuring tool. The population and sample of this study were 60 SMEs entrepreneurs in Surabaya city with saturated sampling technique. The data used are primary data, while the analysis used is Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on the results of research that has been done: 1). Entrepreneurial competence has a positive and significant impact on the performance of micro, small and medium enterprises in the city of Surabaya. 2). Social Capital has a negative and significant effect on the performance of micro, small and medium enterprises in the city of Surabaya.
