Abstract
Communication is the main thing that humans use to socialize for the sake of their survival. The poor quality of communication will also adversely affect human life. Communication between the counselor and the resident must be well interwoven to obtain a relationship between the two. The research used in this paper is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Qualitative descriptive research is research that presents a series of words, sentences to describe research data. The technique used to collect the main data information sources is in-depth interviews that produce information data in depth, accurate and factual. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion of known communication patterns in counselors with resident drug addicts in rehabilitation efforts, namely Permissive. The socialization of the dangers of drugs to residents has been given very clearly by the counselor with a strong warning not to return to use again. Other people who are influential in using drugs are schoolmates and coworkers. For counselors, it is appropriate to carry out acts of freedom so that residents can avoid drugs through their own size.
