Abstract
Lean is an effort to create a smooth flow of production along the value stream by eliminating all forms of waste (waste) and increase value added (value added) products in order to provide added value to customers. While Lean Manufacturing is a production system that constantly strives to reduce wastage by involving all employees within the company. Waste here is defined as all activities that do not provide added value. With the existence of these problems then conducted research by Lean Manufacturing method. Lean Manufacturing is a method that can be used to suppress waste so that the production process in a company can run well. Waste (waste) that occurred in the production floor CV. The Eastern Son is: Unnecessary Inventory, Innapropriate Process, Unnecessary Motion, Transportation, Waiting. This study aims to identify the waste that occurs in the production process by using the Big Picture Mapping, Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) and then analyze the causes of existing waste with Fish Bone Chart and propose improvements to the method FMEA (Failure Mode Effect And Analysis) to reduce the waste that occurs. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the type of waste identified by Unnecessary Inventory with a total weight value of 4.9, Innapropriate Process with a total weight of 4.7, Unnecessary Motion with a total weight of 4, Transportation with a total weight of 4.3 and Waiting with the total weight of sebsar 6.9. While on FMEA, it is found that the biggest waste priority is Unnecessary Inventory (RPN = 120) with proposal of production plan adjusted to customer request, Innapropriate Processing (RPN = 75) with proposal to train to workers and maintenance of equipment or machine must be improved, Unnecessary Motion (RPN = 60) with proposed revamping of facilities and lay out work.
