Abstract
Companies Companies engaged in services and manufacturing always have a goal to get the maximum profit. In realizing it, the company is expected to minimize the existing inventory by optimizing inventory management (inventory management). The need for inventory control systems basically arises because of problems that may be faced by the company in the form of excess or shortage of inventory (Sutarman, 2003). PT. Wonokoyo Jaya Corporindo is one of the producers of animal feed in Indonesia with the product produced is chicken feed. Production that runs 8 hours per sift, with two working shifts each day requires stock of raw material stock in large amount considering the raw material of chicken feed composition many (multi item) such as brand pollar, pollar, katul, SBM, corn, canola meal and feather meal . Improper inventory management may cause the product to be over stock or over capacity so that other product storage space is used for the product. Problems faced by PT. Wonokoyo Jaya Corporindo is the storage space of raw material inventory. The condition of limited storage space with the number of products that very much cause problems for the company. The purpose of this study is to control the supply of optimal raw materials so that it can minimize the total cost of inventory by Lagrange Multiplier method. The Lagrange Multiplier method is the method used to optimize the inventory cost along with the constraints. The result of research using Lagrange Multiplier method resulted in optimal order quantity from each raw material that is Brand Pollar = 10 tons, Pollar = 11 tons, Katul = 38 tons, SBM = 23 tons, Corn = 30 tons, Canola Meal = 11 tons, Feather Meal = 10 tons resulting in total annual inventory cost of Rp. 135.170.000. While the method of the company produces total annual inventory cost of Rp 175.200.000, -. With savings obtained by Lagrange Multiplier method for total annual inventory cost of 22.8% or Rp 40.050.000, -.. Keywords : Inventory, EOQ, Lagrange Multiplier.
