Abstract

Sea turtles in Indonesia face serious threats, including illegal hunting and trade, as well as environmental damage caused by exploitation. Data from the Bajulmati Sea Turtle Conservation (BSTC) records the rescue of four species of sea turtles, but all six species found in Indonesia remain endangered. Therefore, the design of this Sea Turtle Conservation Center aims to create a safe and sustainable facility for turtle conservation, especially in Malang Regency, specifically at Bajulmati Beach. With a Biomimicry Architecture approach, this Conservation Center is expected to function not only as a place for preservation and research but also as an educational tourist destination aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of sea turtle conservation efforts. The design process begins with an initial study on sea turtles and their habitat, followed by a literature review supporting conservation activities. Subsequently, data analysis is carried out, which is used to develop the program and basic planning and design concepts. The outcome of this process is a conservation center using a Biomimicry Architecture approach at Bajulmati Beach, Malang Regency, which not only accommodates visitor activities but also provides adequate and safe space for the turtles.
