Abstract

Environmental pollution is the entry of living things, energy substances, and/or other components into the environment, or changes in the structure of the environment by human activities or natural processes. The printing industry is an industry that produces writing and painting with ink on paper using a printing machine. The negative impacts of the expansion of the printing industry are health problems, beauty problems, and damage to objects. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to reduce COD and BOD levels in ink wastewater, to determine the optimal retention time required to reduce COD & BOD levels in ink wastewater, to determine the performance of PAC (Poly Aluminum Chloride) coagulation in ink wastewater. Reducing COD and BOD levels in ink wastewater can be done using the moving bed biofilm reactor method to meet waste quality standards. The results of the analysis of the study are COD and BOD.
