Abstract
ABSTRACT In fact, many people underestimate textile waste. Many unused clothes are thrown away carelessly. The fast development textile industry in Indonesia produces more and more textile waste which has a negative impact because it pollutes the environment. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic raises various problems, some of which are social and economic problems. Since the pandemic entered Indonesia, the country's economy has drastically decreased and has hampered the buying and selling process, causing many companies to go out of business and many workers dismissed unilaterally. This causes the total unemployment rate in Indonesia soar. To follow up on this problem, with the design thinking method, this article is a response to this problem by proposing a business idea that uses the main material of textile waste, especially jeans, by collaborating with MSME entrepreneurs to advance the MSME business, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This collaboration is done with the presence of a mediator who connects MSMEs with one another. The resulting product design proposals are chair, coffee table, woven lamp, hexagon rug, wall decor, throw pillow and curtain. Keywords textile waste, recycling, small and medium enterprises, collaboration
