Abstract
ABSTRACT The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the whole world for more than a year. The Indonesian government's efforts to control the spread of this epidemic include the 3M program which developed into the 6M program. For malls, the government's policy has led to the emergence of new sign system, especially those placed in visitor lifts inside the mall. Mall is a place to shop and to take a walk. Its strategic location and diverse contents of the mall are interesting things for people to visit. During this pandemic, malls have become a place that is prone to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic because of the crowds of visitors. The sign system installed by the mall in the visitor's lift area was received in various ways. By using field observation method and distributing questionnaires, the conclusion is that the sign system installed in mall elevators in the Jakarta and Tangerang areas is not very effective in its implementation. It takes deep awareness from the community in undergoing this COVID-19 pandemic. Without real participation, efforts to control the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak will take a long time to overcome. Keywords sign system, mall elevator, Jakarta, Tangerang, mall visitor behaviour
