Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyzed the technical and economic efficiency in the use of production factors of tobacco farming in Belun village. This analysis was conducted in Belun village, Temayang sub-district, Bojonegoro district. Efficiency data processing using stochastic frontrier software 4.1 with a research sample of 87 Javanese tobacco farmers. The production inputs used were land area, seeds, urea fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, NPK phonska pluss fertilizer, labor, pesticides and production output. The results of the analysis showed that the gamma elasticity coefficient in technical efficiency amounted to 0.949 and all variables were significant to the 1% t-table (2.64) except pesticide input significant to the 5% t-table (1.99). Meanwhile, in the economic efficiency analysis, the inefficient inputs are seedlings with EE > 1 (52.4) other than these inputs, which are inefficient or EE < 1. The conclusion of this study is 94.9% inefficiency is due to production factors and 5.1% due to external factors. In addition, inputs of Javanese tobacco farming products are not technically or economically efficient. Farmers in order to get full efficiency technically need to reduce the number of inputs (land area, NPK fertilizer and NPK phonska plus fertilizer) but need to increase inputs (seeds, pesticides, urea fertilizer and labor).
