Abstract

Cwimie Kaisar is a business operating in the culinary field. Before the implementation of a point of sale (POS) information system, transactions were recorded manually by writing on paper. After the store closed, the records were transferred one by one to Microsoft Excel. This manual process resulted in double recording of transactions. Therefore, a point of sale information system was developed to simplify transaction recording and allow users to view summaries of recorded transactions. The research utilized the waterfall methodology, consisting of Communication, Planning, Modeling, Construction, and Deployment phases. It began with interviews to gather information about the business processes of Cwimie Kaisar. Functional requirements of the existing business processes were then identified, followed by the creation of data flow diagrams, database designs, and interface designs. During the Construction phase, the information system was developed using Node.js and a MySQL database. Once completed, blackbox testing and user acceptance testing were conducted to evaluate the system's performance. In the Deployment phase, the information system was handed over to the owner of Cwimie Kaisar. With the point of sale information system, users can directly store transaction data and view sales summaries. This allows the owner of Cwimie Kaisar to make informed decisions based on the sales summary data.
