Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is a direct influence of tourism income on the well-being of the population and an indirect impact of tourist income on public welfare through economic growth. The data used is secondary data from the Central Statistical Authority, Surabaya, Indonesia, and the Regional Revenue Authority of Surabaya, Indonesia, for the years 2013–2022. The method used in this study is linear regression with intervening variables. From the results of the analysis, it can be known that the income of tourism has a significant positive impact with a high value on the well-being of the people directly, and tourism income through economic growth is a significant influence variable with a low value on public welfare in the City of Surabaya.
