Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in printing and packaging that produces Deka Wafer Roll packaging. The problem that occured in this company is lack of consideration of the degree of proximity to work stations, placement of work stations that are not in the order of production process which caused backtracking. Layout of facilities that do not consider the flow of the production process and placement of work stations can result in long transfer distances and, if this continues, it can increase process time and decrease the level of production productivity. This study used Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method to design the best layout alternative and minimize moment of material movement that occurs on production floor and used Blocplan Software to determine the most optimal proposed layout. From the research conducted, obtained 10 proposed layouts from blocplan software, the best layout is the layout that has the R- Score value closest to 1. The layout that has an R-Score value closest to 1 is layout 4 with an R-score value of 0.88, which means that the layout is the most efficient layout and some changes in the position of the work station placement are made. In the initial layout, the total distance of movement between work stations is 670 meters and in the proposed layout, the total distance of movement between work stations is 426 meters, and difference in the total distance between work stations is obtained
