Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of finding out the influence of the open unemployment rate, human development index(HDI) and population on income inequality between city/districts in East Java from 2018 to 2023. This study uses secondary data by combining time series and cross section data. The data used in this study was taken from the officialy website of BPS (Central Statistic Agency) of East Java province. There are ten district or cities in East Java which are used as representative of each Bakorwil which is based on selected areas with the highest average over the past 5 years as an illustration. Then the data obtained will be subjected to panel data regression analysis by carrying out simultaneous test, coefficient of determination tests and partial tes. After carrying out the regression, regression results in this study show that the open unemployment rate has no influence on income inequality, while the human development index and population have a positive and significant influence on income inequality. From the results of this research, it is hoped that government can equalize economic development in each region and the community is expected to play an active role in the economic development process.
