Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of superior food crop commodities in the agropolitan area to enhance the economy of sidoarjo regency. Based on the analysis of Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and Klassen Typology (TK) classification, it was found that soybeans and corn are superior commodities with demand from both inside and outside the region, with potential for export. Soybeans were identified as the most superior and prospective commodity. The development strategy for soybeans, derived from the IFAS and EFAS matrices using SWOT analysis, includes: optimizing land use to increase soybean production, encouraging active participation of farmers in farmer groups to receive production assistance, using certified seeds to improve the quality and quantity of soybean production, developing local soybean processing industries to increase product added value and create job opportunities, and implementing innovative agricultural technologies to optimize yields. The implementation of these strategies is expected to significantly contribute to the economic improvement of sidoarjo regency through the development of soybeans as a superior food crop commodity.
